How do we perceive our environment? What is reality? Can we trust our mind? The artist Dirk Salz (*1962) raises all these questions with his works. The works, many of which are made of epoxy resin, are not only reflective surfaces due to their special haptics and materiality. At the same time, they give the viewer a transparent insight into the real spatial depth of the image, thereby linking pictorial reality with perceptual reality. This creates an exciting interplay that constitutes the special charm of the works. The publication offers an insight into the artist's work. In addition to painting, the book also includes the independent series of drawings, which occupy a special position in Salz's oeuvre.
