Looking at the oil painting by Waldemar Theophil Fink, painted in 1941, one can almost hear the crunch of the snow under the shoes of the man and the boy and feel the cool mountain air brushing over their faces. With the play between cold and warm colours created by the lantern light, Fink creates a wonderfully sensual scene, which in the centre represents the common walk home. The lantern forms a counterpart to the starry sky illuminated by the moon and brings the viewer back into the here and now. The earlier paper work shows the same representation and it can be assumed that this is a preliminary study for the later oil painting. Both works reflect this magical, mystical Christmas mood.
In this sense, bromer kunst wishes you and your relatives a contemplative Christmas season with a lot of art and culture.
